CURRENT NEWS
We
recognize that most riders are involved in more than one organization.
We are active in the DFW motorcycle community and often attend other clubs'
meetings, rides, and events, and encourage other clubs to join in our
activities. We promote activities from other clubs to our members and
encourage them to mingle with other groups. We have an excellent mix of
bikes, rider experience, and riding styles. We have written group-riding
guidelines and we support Motorcycle Safety Foundation training. Any type
or brand of bike is always WELCOME! Rides
are very frequent: at least one ride every weekend, usually one on a weeknight,
and special rides as the occasion arises. We are fortunate that Texas
weather allows us to ride year round. Weekend rides can be from 100 miles to 250 miles, most times for food, some times to meet other motorcyclists,
but always for the enjoyment of the ride. Our
newsletter and web site provide information about riding opportunities
to riders. The newsletter is six to ten pages monthly, nicely published
in print and on our website. If people don't know about the rides, how
are they going to show up? We write about past and future rides and tell
people about other people. We love to tell others about our experiences. Our
club name says it all, Freedom Riders:
the FREEDOM
to ride what you wish, when you wish, with a diverse group of fellow motorcyclists
enjoying the sport. We think people participate for one reason, to ride!
We don't care what you ride, we only care that you love to ride.
We have no dues and our one meeting each month is voluntary, short, and
mostly social. We strive to keep it simple, free of politics, and other
distractions that keep us from enjoying the ride. |
